2024 WORCS ROUND 5: BLYTHE, CALIFORNIA

The 2024 Rocky Mountain ATV/MC WORCS Series made its annual stop at Shorty’s MX park in Blythe, California, featuring a unique course of deep sand and fast straights. Endurance was crucial, with lead changes across all three pro classes. Justin Hoeft secured his second season 450 Pro victory, while Mason Semmens clinched his third consecutive win in the 250 Pro class.

Dare Demartile initially led the 450 Pro class, with Tyler Lynn recovering from a start mishap to challenge the leaders. Hoeft, employing his trademark strategy, gradually increased his pace halfway through the race, ultimately overtaking Demartile to claim victory. Lynn secured third place, with Jack Simpson and Tyler Belknap rounding out the top five.

In the highly competitive 250 Pro class, Mason Semmens grabbed the holeshot but briefly lost the lead to Colton Aeck. Semmens quickly recovered, engaging in a fierce battle with Aeck before regaining the lead and ultimately securing his third consecutive win. Cole Zeller showcased remarkable progress despite a challenging start, while Kai Aiello also fought fiercely for a podium position.

In the Pro-Am class, Noah Gordon initially dominated, but Jackson Glathar seized the opportunity when Gordon encountered mechanical issues late in the race, narrowly clinching victory. Racer Fry and Kayden Lynn engaged in a similarly intense battle for third place.

In the 125 Pro class, Ryan Surratt led the field before his race was cut short due to an impending shoulder surgery. Travis Damon claimed third place behind Surratt and Tristun Alvarez. Meanwhile, in the Women’s Pro class, Mikayla Nielsen emerged victorious, with Kaitlyn Jacobs securing second place.

The event at Shorty’s MX park showcased thrilling racing action across multiple classes, with competitors demonstrating skill, determination, and resilience in challenging desert conditions.
