A Tesla dashcam captured a dramatic rescue on the highway near St. Paul, Minnesota. A gas SUV had crashed and burst into flames, but brave bystanders weren’t about to give up on the driver.
The video starts with the burning car on the side of the road. One person is already trying to help the driver, but the situation gets even better as more people stop to join the rescue effort.
There was a problem, though. The guardrail was bent around the car, preventing the doors from opening all the way. People struggled to pull the doors open, but the metal wouldn’t budge enough.
The driver of the Tesla with the camera grabbed something sharp from the wreckage and tried to break the window. That didn’t work either. Just then, a worker from the Minnesota Department of Transportation showed up and smashed the window. There was a small explosion right before that, forcing everyone back for a moment, but luckily no one was hurt.
With the window broken, the driver could finally get his feet out. A group of rescuers then pulled him to safety, making sure to get him far away from the inferno.
