Police in Milton, Florida arrested a man because he pulled a gun on an Uber driver earlier this week. The driver was dropping off his daughter when Sean Hollonbeck did this. He made the driver get out of the car and lie down on the ground. Now, he’s been charged with false imprisonment and aggravated assault with a weapon.
Hollonbeck also made the driver show his driver’s license and took pictures of it. He also took pictures of the license plate, the Uber account, and where he picked up Hollonbeck’s daughter.
It turns out, Hollonbeck’s 13-year-old daughter snuck out of the house and took an Uber to Pensacola, which is about 30 minutes away. Hollonbeck called the police when he found out, but they didn’t help much. So when his daughter came back, he decided to pull a gun on the Uber driver.
It’s not clear what kind of gun Hollonbeck used. Some reports say it was a .22 rifle, while others say it was an AR-15. Both guns can be deadly, especially up close.
After he got arrested and lost his job, you might think Hollonbeck would realize he made a mistake. But he’s actually defending himself, saying he did nothing wrong.
He’s saying the Uber car didn’t look like a regular Uber car, so he thought something bad might be happening. He also mentioned issues like fentanyl, child trafficking, and rape happening in the country.
Hollonbeck also wants people to know he’s a veteran. He served in the Army and the Navy. But that doesn’t excuse his actions.
He says he’s innocent until proven guilty and wants a jury of parents to decide if what he did was fair. But most people probably won’t see it his way.
