Maximilian Guenther set the fastest time of 1 minute and 2.834 seconds in the first 10 minutes

At the Tempelhof Airport circuit on Saturday morning, the drivers started to go faster as the track cleared up. Maximilian Guenther set the fastest time of 1 minute and 2.834 seconds in the first 10 minutes. Then, Lucas di Grassi from Abt moved to the top with a time of 1 minute and 2.189 seconds, which stayed the fastest for most of the session.

But then, a red flag came out because an advertising banner was in the middle of the track. After a few minutes, the session restarted, and drivers had a short time to try and set faster times. Guenther managed to get back to the top with a time of 1 minute and 2.177 seconds just before the session ended.

Behind Guenther and di Grassi, Pascal Wehrlein, who is leading the championship, also got some time on the track after a difficult first practice session on Friday. He couldn’t set a time then because of a problem with his car. His team worked hard overnight to fix the car, which had some parts damaged.

Edoardo Mortara from Mahindra finished fourth in the session, very close to Guenther’s time. Mitch Evans, who won in Monaco, finished in 11th place, and the reigning champion Jake Dennis finished in 16th place.

This weekend, Mahindra’s Jordan King made his debut, filling in for Nyck de Vries, who had commitments in the World Endurance Championship. King finished in 15th place, not far behind Guenther. Paul Aron from Envision, also making his debut because Sebastien Buemi was racing in the WEC at Spa, ended the session in 20th place.

Joel Eriksson, who returned to Formula E in place of Robin Frijns, finished last in the session. Antonio Felix da Costa from Porsche finished Friday’s session quickest, followed by Sergio Sette Camara from ERT and Stoffel Vandoorne from DS Penske.
