Genesis has announced that it’s making more of its electric cars available in the United States. They will now be sold in 37 states. Also, the company is opening 26 new Genesis dealerships. This brings the total number of Genesis stores in the country to 35. These new dealerships will help Genesis become more independent from Hyundai and give customers a luxury experience.
“The opening of 26 new dedicated Genesis facilities across the country demonstrates our commitment to serving more communities across the United States in the coming years,” said Claudia Marquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America. “With our growing retail network, we are also rapidly expanding electric vehicle availability, adding Alabama, Kansas, Oregon, and Rhode Island. This latest phase of growth allows for even more customers to discover our award-winning EV lineup.”
The new dealerships are spread across different parts of the country, including New York, Illinois, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, and California. These standalone dealerships add to the catalog of combined dealerships the brand already offers, giving it further reach and availability in states it hasn’t always been able to serve.
Interestingly, none of the states where Genesis is expanding EV availability – Alabama, Kansas, Oregon, and Rhode Island – are the ones where it’s establishing standalone dealerships. These new EV states will now have access to the GV60 SUV, Electrified GV70 SUV, and Electrified G80 executive sedan, which all come with three years of complimentary 30-minute charging sessions at any Electrify America station.
These moves come as the company has experienced rapid growth in recent years, having experienced 17 straight months of sales growth. In 2021, the brand had a mere 59 full-time US corporate Genesis members, with that number having grown to 165 in recent months. According to Ash Corson, Director of Product Planning for Genesis USA, this growth is because the products are so good.
“For me, the biggest challenge has just been really introducing ourselves to new people,” he said. “We’re a young brand, and […] once people see a Genesis and actually experience the Genesis brand […] that’s an easy sell because the products speak for themselves.”
These products include the refreshed 2025 GV80. It proves the company has a keen grasp on the technology, style, and luxury appointments that buyers crave. Now with all these new dealerships and more models on the horizon, Genesis is on its way to becoming a more recognized and respected luxury brand in the US.
