Brad Pitt has been working on a movie about Formula 1 racing for a while now. Lewis Hamilton, a famous F1 driver, is helping produce it. They started filming last year, but they had to stop because of an actor’s strike. Now, they’re back on track, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most expensive movies ever made.
The movie doesn’t have a title yet, but it’s about an older race driver who comes back to the sport with a younger star. They’ve been filming scenes at real F1 events in places like Silverstone and the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Recently, a report came out saying the movie’s budget could be over $300 million. That’s a lot of money, and it’s causing some problems. Delays in filming because of the strike and the cost of using real race cars are making the budget go up.
They’re using modified Formula 2 cars to look like F1 cars for the movie. Brad Pitt and Damson Idris, another actor, are driving these cars, and everything they do on the track is being filmed. But making sure everything is safe and looks good adds to the costs.
With a budget this big, the movie will need to make a lot of money at the box office to break even. It might need to make more than $750 million after paying for things like marketing and distribution.
Sony might distribute the movie, and they would get around eight percent of the money it makes. This is similar to a deal they had with another big project last year. But this deal could affect how much money Apple, the company making the movie, gets in the end.
