Michael Schumacher, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion, had a collection of personal items sold for a total of 4 million Swiss Francs, which is about $4.41 million.

These items were going to be auctioned at Christie’s Auction House in Geneva on Monday but were postponed until Tuesday because of a cyber-attack.

The highlight of the collection was a special Platinum Vagabondage 1 watch, given to Schumacher as a gift from his former Ferrari boss, Jean Todt. This watch was designed by Francois-Paul Journe and includes symbols representing Schumacher’s world titles, his helmet design, and the Ferrari emblem. Todt dedicated it to Schumacher for Christmas in 2004. It sold for 1.5 million Swiss Francs, meeting the estimated price of $1.2-$2.2 million.

Another interesting item was a customized Audemars Piguet watch, also given to Schumacher by Todt for Christmas in 2003. It features a dedication to his six titles and includes his red racing helmet design. This watch received a successful bid of 415,800 Swiss Francs.

Christie’s Head of Watches in Europe, Remi Guillemin, said that collectors were excited to find these watches filled with history.

Schumacher is one of the most successful Formula 1 drivers ever, sharing the record of seven world titles with Lewis Hamilton. He retired from Formula 1 at the end of 2012 but made a brief comeback with Mercedes. However, he suffered severe head injuries in a skiing accident the following winter, leaving him in a coma. Since then, his family has kept his condition private.
