Lamborghini has been working hard to keep its powerful V12 engine going, but the V10 engine in the Huracán is almost done. Instead, the new model that will come after the Huracán will be smaller, have turbochargers, and be a hybrid.

This new model, called 634 internally, will have a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. It will make about 800 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque. It will also have an eight-speed automatic transmission. The current Huracán uses a naturally-aspirated V10 engine that makes 631 horsepower, and a hybrid called the Revuelto has a V12 engine that makes 814 horsepower. The new hybrid system will have three electric motors and a battery, but we don’t know much about them yet.

It’s important to note that even though Lamborghini is part of the Volkswagen Group, the V8 engine in the new model is not the same as the one used by other companies like Porsche. Lamborghini made this engine from scratch. It can rev up to 10,000 rpm, which is very high for a turbocharged engine. It also has a flat-plane crankshaft, which is usually seen in racing engines.

The new car will use a special transmission that was first used in the Revuelto, another Lamborghini hybrid. We don’t know much about the electric part of the car yet, but we do know that one of the electric motors will be between the engine and the transmission. Even though it’s a hybrid, Lamborghini promises it will still sound like a supercar should.

Lamborghini will show the new model later in 2024, and we’ll learn more about it then. When it comes out, it will be part of Lamborghini’s plan to have all of its cars be electric or hybrid. It will join the Revuelto and the plug-in hybrid Urus SE, which was revealed in April 2024.
