Hennessey, a company from Texas, made the H850 Mustang Dark Horse last year. It’s a supercharged muscle car with a lot of power: 850 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Now, they’ve shared how well it performs.
The regular Dark Horse takes 3.7 seconds to go from 0 to 60 miles per hour. But with the H850, it’s faster by 0.5 seconds. In a quarter-mile race, the regular Dark Horse finishes in 12 seconds at 118.4 miles per hour. The Hennessey-tuned one does it in 10.9 seconds at 133 miles per hour. That’s faster than a standard Corvette Stingray, but not as quick as the E-Ray and Z06.
The H850 Dark Horse gets its boost from many engine upgrades. They include a special supercharger, a better air intake system, Hennessey’s engine management system, improved fuel injectors, and a new fuel pump. You can choose to pair it with either a 10-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission.
John Hennessey, the founder and CEO, says they made the H850 Dark Horse for people who love powerful cars. He says, “Our supercharged H850 Mustang Dark Horse builds on Ford’s commitment to provide automotive enthusiasts with passion products like the snarling V8-powered S650 Mustang.”
The H850 package costs $24,950. When added to the $58,935 starting price of the Dark Horse, the total is $83,885. That’s not cheap, but considering the powerful 850-horsepower engine, it’s a good deal. You can also get a Performance Wheel package for $4,950 and choose Heritage Graphics for $4,500.
All H850 models come with a three-year/36,000-mile limited warranty. They also have special features like Hennessey-embroidered headrests, H850 badging, and a serial-numbered engine plaque. Hennessey offers upgrades for other models too, like the F-150 Raptor R-based VelociraptoR, the Ranger Raptor, and the Bronco Raptor.
