Romain Grosjean and Santino Ferrucci have been involved in several clashes during the last two race weekends. Ferrucci mentioned seeking payback during practice at the last round on the Indianapolis road course before another incident during the race.
Grosjean, 38, expressed his thoughts on the situation, saying, “I don’t think we play in the same field.” He emphasized focusing on racing everyone equally and doing his best for Juncos Hollinger Racing. Grosjean clarified that he didn’t feel he did anything wrong and intends to continue focusing on his performance without being concerned about the situation with Ferrucci.
In the upcoming Indianapolis 500 race, Grosjean will start 26th, while Ferrucci will start from sixth position. Despite attending media day press conferences for the Indy 500, Grosjean revealed that he and Ferrucci had a conversation “a couple of days ago,” but tension remains between them.
Grosjean mentioned that Ferrucci asked if everything was okay between them, to which Grosjean replied negatively, citing the incidents where Ferrucci put him in the wall or grass multiple times without reason. Grosjean expressed that unless Ferrucci apologizes and provides an explanation for his actions, their relationship won’t improve.
He emphasized his approach to racing, stating that he would treat everyone the same way on the track. Grosjean indicated that while the situation with Ferrucci exists, he remains focused on his racing priorities.
