In a strange turn of events, the Russian Army, with help from Chechen troops, has been spotted using Tesla Cybertrucks equipped with heavy machine guns in combat zones.
A recent video shows the futuristic electric trucks racing across dirt roads, painted in green camouflage and loaded with weaponry. However, the sight of these Silicon Valley-designed vehicles in a warzone has left many wondering if this is a real military move or just a PR stunt.
The video, posted on YouTube by Bulgarian Military, shows Cybertrucks alongside traditional pickups, maneuvering through off-road terrain and even shooting down a small drone.
While it looks straight out of a video game, it raises questions about how practical these electric vehicles are in combat. Tesla Cybertrucks weren’t designed to be armored military vehicles, and their electric power source brings up logistical issues, like how to keep them charged in remote battlefields.
Although GM has explored the idea of military EVs, such as the Hummer EV, the Cybertruck’s role in warfare is far from clear.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Cybertrucks have been linked to Russia. Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov previously claimed Elon Musk gifted him a Cybertruck, a statement Musk later denied. Recently, Kadyrov accused Musk of remotely disabling his Cybertruck, rendering it useless.
Musk dismissed the claim with his usual humor, but it highlights a larger problem: if Musk can control these vehicles remotely, they might not be the unstoppable war machines they appear to be.
In the end, whether these Cybertrucks are battle-ready or just part of a propaganda show, their appearance on the front lines raises some serious questions about the future of electric vehicles in warfare.
