Craving a modern, safety-focused SUV but yearning for the charm of a bygone era? One car owner wasn’t content with the choice between a timeless Suburban and a sophisticated Escalade. That’s where West Coast Customs (WCC) steps in the Californian powerhouse renowned for turning celebrity cars into jaw dropping masterpieces.
Their latest creation? A head turning metamorphosis that seamlessly blends the essence of a classic Suburban with the opulent features of a contemporary Cadillac Escalade. Forget Hollywood special effects this is the magic of meticulous customization brought to life.
WCC isn’t new to automotive transformations. Listers frequently entrust their prized possessions to their team, seeking one of a kind makeovers. Take Mark Zuckerberg’s wife, Priscilla Chan, for example. WCC materialized her vision for a Porsche Cayenne minivan, complete with an extended wheelbase (likely to accommodate an extra row for their three daughters) and a lowered suspension for a sportier look.
Now, the power couple boasts matching Porsches his, a thrilling 911 with a manual transmission for pure driving pleasure, and hers, a practical option with a “boost mode” for those hectic mornings rushing the kids to school.
From Shaquille O’Neal’s custom ride to Jennifer Lopez’s dazzling car and Will.i.am’s personalized set of wheels, WCC’s client list boasts some of the biggest names in entertainment. This time, they tackled a body swap for a mystery owner with a hankering for a classic aesthetic.
With years of experience pioneering such procedures, WCC seamlessly breathed new life into an old GMC Suburban, proving once again that their expertise in automotive alchemy remains unmatched.
The West Coast Customs team took on a unique project: transforming a classic Suburban into a modern Escalade. They began by separating the Suburban’s body from its chassis and then mounting it onto the platform of a new Escalade. Despite the similar sizes, the two vehicles had significant differences, requiring extensive cutting, trimming, and welding to achieve a seamless fit.
The Escalade’s wider stance meant that the fenders needed significant fabrication. The goal was to maintain the Suburban’s iconic appearance while incorporating the Escalade’s advanced driving capabilities.
The interior was also customized to the customer’s specifications, featuring a combination of ivory and brown leather with diamond stitching. The exterior received a two tone paint job in metallic brown and white, with copper accents on the grille, window trims, and wheels.
The front and rear bumpers were also finished in the same gold hue. To complete the transformation, an expert would rebuild the Escalade’s dashboard using polyurethane foam. Once dry, the foam would be sculpted to shape before being reinforced with fiberglass.
