Hyundai is continuing its development of its second electric N model, the Ioniq 6 N, at the Nurburgring. A recent sighting of a heavily camouflaged prototype has revealed more details about this upcoming high performance electric sedan.

The prototype features a distinctive N-themed camouflage wrap, double-spoke alloy wheels with cutouts, red brake calipers, and Pirelli high-performance tires. It’s expected to arrive in dealerships in 2026 and will feature a fixed rear wing, widened arches, black-tinted rear windows, and digital side mirrors.

The interior of the prototype is also more performance-focused, with racing overalls, six-point racing harnesses, and a modified rear bumper. Despite its weight, the Ioniq 6 N handles well in corners and rides lower than the standard model. It’s likely to be powered by a dual-motor setup similar to the Hyundai RN22e concept, which produces 430 kilowatts.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 N, a high-performance electric sedan, is poised to rival the Tesla Model 3 Performance. While boasting impressive power and torque figures, its weight and range remain to be seen. With a 577 horsepower output and 740 Newton-meter torque, the Ioniq 6 N closely matches the Kia EV6 GT.

However, its heavier weight, due to its electric drivetrain and larger battery, may impact its acceleration and range. The Ioniq 6 N’s body style directly competes with the Model 3 Performance, which offers a lower weight and a longer range. While the Ioniq 6 N’s estimated range is around 300 miles, the Model 3 Performance boasts a range of 303 miles.

The Ioniq 6 N’s acceleration time to 60 mph is also expected to be slightly slower than the Model 3 Performance. Despite these potential drawbacks, the Ioniq 6 N’s powerful performance and unique design make it a compelling option for those seeking a high-performance electric sedan.
