Aston Martin is set to reveal the Vanquish Volante, the latest addition to its grand touring lineup. Despite the familiar silhouettes of the Vanquish Coupe and DB12 Volante, Aston Martin has taken great care to disguise this prototype, suggesting significant changes or advancements.
The Vanquish Volante, spotted on various color wheels, features a black canvas top and an orangey tan and black interior. Its soft top mechanism is expected to be similar to the DB12 Volante’s K-fold setup, offering a quick 14-second opening and 16-second closing time at speeds up to 31 miles per hour.
Like the DB12 Volante, owners can control the soft top from their key fob within a two-meter range. The Vanquish Volante will offer a choice of four colors: black, red, blue, and a black-silver combination. Its fabric roof features eight layers of insulation for enhanced comfort and noise reduction.
Scheduled to debut in 2025 for the 2026 model year, the Vanquish Volante will be equipped with the same Pirelli summer and winter tires as the DB12. These tires, specifically designed for the Vanquish, feature Pirelli’s noise cancelling technology for a quieter ride.
To compensate for the added weight of the convertible top, Aston Martin has likely made adjustments to the suspension, including the Bilstein DTX adaptive dampers. These advanced dampers, first introduced in the DB12, offer exceptional responsiveness, improved body control, enhanced agility, and a comfortable ride.
Aston Martin’s Vanquish Coupe, a limited edition luxury super tourer, is heavier than its predecessor, the DB12, but lighter than the Bentley Continental GT Speed. While the DB12 weighs around 1,800 kilograms, the Vanquish Coupe weighs 2,020 kilograms. The Bentley Continental GT Speed, on the other hand, weighs a hefty 2,636 kilograms.
Despite its weight, the Vanquish Coupe is still a desirable vehicle due to its limited production and powerful V12 engine. However, its price tag, which starts at £330,000 in the UK, may deter some potential buyers.
