Mercedes-Benz is gearing up to intensify competition for the Tesla Model 3 with the upcoming launch of its all-electric CLA sedan. The luxury automaker recently revealed a teaser video featuring CEO Ola Källenius driving the sleek, sporty vehicle, offering a look into its design and performance.

Slated for a 2025 release as a 2026 model, the CLA is the inaugural offering built on the new, electrified MMA platform. While the showcased model is fully electric, Mercedes has confirmed that hybrid variants will also be available, catering to a wider range of consumer preferences.

Previous spy shots have hinted at the CLA’s design, but the latest official video and images provide the clearest look yet at the production version. A notable highlight is the unique star-shaped DRLs in the front headlights, reminiscent of the rear LED lights on the E-Class.

The upcoming Mercedes-Benz CLA promises a blend of style, technology, and efficiency. With a design that leans heavily towards a coupe-like profile, featuring frameless glass doors and a panoramic sunroof, the CLA aims to offer a spacious and light-filled cabin.

The interior will likely be dominated by a large infotainment screen powered by Mercedes’ new MB.OS software, which will incorporate an advanced AI voice assistant. This system is designed to minimize distractions by allowing drivers to control various car functions through voice commands.

While specific details about the electric powertrain remain undisclosed, the CLA is expected to utilize 800-volt technology, enabling rapid charging speeds of up to 250 kW.

This technology could potentially allow the car to gain significant range in a short charging period. Additionally, Mercedes has confirmed that the hybrid version of the CLA will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine sourced from Geely.
