The 2024 Subaru Solterra has been named the Best Compact Electric SUV of 2024 by several automotive publications. This recognition is a testament to Subaru’s commitment to combining all-terrain capability with a cutting-edge electric powertrain.
The Solterra, developed in partnership with Toyota, features a 72.8 kWh battery that provides a range of up to 222 miles on a full charge. It offers standard all wheel drive, a hallmark of Subaru vehicles, and comes equipped with advanced safety features like the DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System and EyeSight Driver Assist Technologies.
One of the standout improvements in the 2024 model is the upgraded fast-charge capability, which allows the Solterra to charge from 10% to 80% in about 35 minutes. This is particularly beneficial in cold weather, where the charging speed is twice as fast at 32 degrees and four times faster at 14 degrees.
The Solterra is available in multiple trims, with prices starting at $44,995 for the base model and going up to $51,995 for the Touring trim. Despite its competitive pricing, the Solterra does not qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit, but Subaru offers an equivalent incentive for lease payments.
