Porsche has revealed a new digital visualization platform for the Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric, designed to let customers and dealers configure vehicles through interactive 3D and 2D views with highly photorealistic detail.

Developed in partnership with management consultancy MHP and Porsche Digital, the platform is built on MHP’s Elastic Content Platform (ECP) and relies on cloud-based streaming technology hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver real-time 3D content across the Porsche app, in-dealer systems, and desktop browsers.

The new system uses Epic Games’ Unreal Engine to produce lifelike renderings of vehicles and virtual environments. Porsche said the technology is intended to overcome the challenges created by the deep level of customization available across its model range, which can place heavy demands on conventional visualization solutions.

MHP has previously rolled out 360-degree visualization experiences for Porsche’s Taycan and Macan models, and the same ECP technology is already in use by brands including Aston Martin, Pagani, Ducati, and Lotus.

According to MHP, these 360-degree experiences have resulted in higher website traffic, longer user engagement, and increased configuration activity across the projects where the platform has been deployed.

Commenting on the launch, Philipp Grolle, Product Manager for Visualisation Services at Porsche, said: “Our goal is to enable users to experience vehicles in photorealistic quality and in real time, in both 2D and 3D. With the launch of the Cayenne Electric, we are using our innovative visualisation platform at all relevant touchpoints for the first time, creating a seamless, impressive brand experience.”
