The Ram TRX has been officially confirmed for a comeback, bringing increased power, upgraded technology, and the return of the SRT badge as Ram re-enters the high-stakes off-road truck battle.
When the Ram TRX first debuted, it didn’t merely enter the off-road pickup segment, it dominated it. At launch, it stood as Ram’s most powerful production truck ever, delivering 702 horsepower and signaling a willingness to stretch the limits of what a factory-built half-ton pickup could achieve. Its downside was longevity.
After only three years on the market, the original TRX was discontinued, leaving a clear void at the top of Ram’s lineup. Following a series of teasers last month, Ram has now officially confirmed the TRX’s return, with dealership arrivals planned for late 2026 as a 2027 model-year truck.
The new 1500 SRT TRX marks the first off-road vehicle from the revived SRT Performance Division and becomes the first Ram model to wear an SRT badge since the mid-2000s. The move signals Ram’s intent to once again field a true halo truck, not as a nostalgia play, but as a statement aimed at redefining the segment.
The 1500 SRT TRX comes back equipped with a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8, now rated at 777 horsepower and 680 lb-ft of torque. That represents a meaningful jump over the outgoing 702-horsepower version and places it squarely back at the top of the gas-powered half-ton pickup hierarchy.
Power is delivered through a strengthened eight-speed automatic transmission and a full-time four-wheel-drive system. Launch control comes standard, and Ram says the 1500 SRT TRX can sprint from zero to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds. That’s impressive for any vehicle, especially one rolling on 35-inch tires.
Against the Ford Raptor R, the updated TRX now claims the horsepower edge, producing 777 hp compared to the Raptor R’s 720 hp.

While Ford’s approach focuses heavily on chassis balance and handling, Ram holds the outright power advantage. That said, Ford’s 900-horsepower Raptor R concept revealed at SEMA suggests the rivalry is far from settled, even if that version hasn’t reached production.
Visually, the new 1500 SRT TRX stays true to the aggressive styling of its predecessor. It remains wider and taller than a standard Ram 1500, featuring composite widebody fender flares, a functional hood scoop, and assertive lighting elements. Every aspect of the design serves a purpose, from the steel bumpers to the massive exhaust outlets.

Inside the cabin, the TRX blends high-performance intent with upscale comfort. Leather and suede dominate the interior surfaces, complemented by carbon fiber accents and red stitching throughout. Standard equipment includes heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, along with heated and reclining rear seats.
Technology is equally comprehensive. A 14.5-inch central touchscreen, fully digital gauge cluster, head-up display, and hands-free active driving assist are all included as standard. Ram’s message is clear: extreme off-road capability no longer requires compromising on comfort or advanced safety features.
Leading the launch lineup is the 1500 SRT TRX Bloodshot Night Edition. This special version features a Blacktop upper section paired with a hand-painted Flame Red center stripe, giving it a more aggressive visual presence than the standard model.
Distinctive graphics, beadlock-capable wheels, and select interior enhancements differentiate it further from the regular TRX. Inside, the Bloodshot Night Edition includes red-accented carbon fiber trim, a glass-encased TRX console badge, and red-outline branding throughout the cabin. While it’s clearly aimed at collectors, it hasn’t sacrificed functionality.
The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is scheduled to arrive at dealerships in the second half of the year, with a starting price of $99,995 before destination charges.
Pricing details for the Bloodshot Night Edition will be revealed closer to launch. At this point, Ram has not confirmed whether production of the revived TRX will be limited, as it was with the original 2021 model.
