A newly redesigned, borderless badge is set to arrive in 2027, though the long-standing emblem will continue to appear on select vehicles.

As Honda accelerates its transition toward electrification, the automaker is preparing to make a meaningful, if understated, change to its visual identity.

The company has confirmed that a redesigned emblem will begin appearing on its electrified production vehicles, while also being adopted across broader areas of its automotive operations, including dealer networks and motorsport programs.

The familiar H logo has been reworked into a cleaner, borderless form. This updated design is scheduled to make its first appearance on upcoming electric vehicles and next-generation hybrids, with production models wearing the new badge beginning in 2027.

The redesigned emblem was first shown on Honda’s 0 Series concept vehicles revealed in early 2024. The earliest production vehicle expected to feature the badge is the 0 SUV, which will be manufactured in Ohio. While the model was initially expected to launch in 2026, Honda has now confirmed that the first official rollout of the new logo will take place in 2027.

After the 0 SUV, Honda plans to introduce the closely related 0 Saloon, which will also incorporate the illuminated version of the emblem.

In addition, a third model, the compact 0 Alpha SUV, is currently under development as a global offering, with a particular focus on markets such as Japan and India.

Beyond its battery-electric lineup, Honda has also stated that the new emblem will appear on upcoming hybrid vehicles. Between 2027 and 2031, the automaker intends to launch 13 new models equipped with an updated iteration of its e:HEV hybrid system.

According to Honda, the revised system will deliver improved efficiency, enhanced performance, and more tightly integrated components.

As a result, vehicles such as the Prelude coupe and the forthcoming Super-One hatchback may be among the last new models to retain the current H emblem, unless Honda chooses to introduce the updated badge through future model-year refreshes.

While Honda has not outlined plans for models powered exclusively by internal combustion engines, it has emphasized that the new branding will be “rolled out gradually across automobile models and other business areas,” including dealerships, communications efforts, and motorsport activities.

Honda’s H emblem has been a defining element of the brand since 1963, with previous updates introduced in 1969, 1981, 1991, and 2001. The latest redesign, inspired by the image of two outstretched hands, is meant to represent a “second founding” of the company as it navigates a period of significant transformation.
