With cutting-edge AI, advanced safety systems, and an impressive driving range, the new EX60 is positioning itself as Volvo’s next-generation electric crossover.
Teaser images of the Volvo EX60 reveal a blend of tactile controls and central touchscreen interface. Features include Volvo’s AI assistant Gemini, top-tier processing power, and advanced safety innovations. Offers up to 400 miles of range, a 173-mile recharge in just 10 minutes, with full revealing on January 21.
The BMW iX3 has earned accolades for its range, modern technology, and design, and now Volvo is looking to challenge it with the upcoming EX60 crossover, set for its official reveal next week.
To build anticipation, Volvo has released a teaser image highlighting the interior, particularly the central touchscreen. While that’s the first thing fans see, there’s much more about the EX60 that makes it noteworthy.
The 2026 EX60’s interior combines traditional controls with a modern touchscreen interface. An illuminated, textured knob appears to manage media volume, while climate controls are integrated into the touchscreen. These controls sit at the bottom of the screen rather than buried in menus, making them easier to access while driving.
Safety remains a cornerstone for Volvo. In the event of a collision, the EX60’s adaptive Genius Safety Belt, named one of Top Inventions of 2025, aims to protect occupants, continuing Volvo’s legacy of prioritizing safety in every model.

Volvo calls the EX60 “the most intelligent Volvo to date,” powered by technology from Google, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm. Its AI assistant, Gemini, allows drivers to control “everything that matters on the road” using natural language, without needing precise commands.
At the heart of the vehicle, Volvo’s HuginCore system delivers the “highest level of processing power found in a Volvo car to date,” performing over 250 trillion operations per second.
The system continuously monitors its surroundings using an extensive array of sensors, learning not only from the driver’s experiences but also from other Volvos globally. Future over-the-air updates will even enable Gemini to interpret the environment through the vehicle’s cameras and respond to questions about what occupants see outside the car.
Previous teasers revealed that the all-wheel-drive EX60 can travel up to 400 miles on a single charge. Built on Volvo’s new 800-volt SPA3 platform, this makes it the longest-range Volvo yet, surpassing even the larger EX90 three-row SUV.
When the battery is depleted, a 400kW fast charger can restore up to 173 miles of range in just 10 minutes. The battery also comes with a 10-year warranty, underscoring Volvo’s confidence in the system.
With the interior now teased and its performance capabilities highlighted, Volvo is preparing for the full EX60 reveal, scheduled for January 21.
