Hennessey has never been subtle about its approach to performance trucks, and its latest creation is a very American kind of statement piece.

To celebrate 250 years of American independence, the Texas-based tuner has unveiled a limited-run version of the Ford F-250 called the VelociRaptor 1200 F-250. Despite what the name might suggest, the “1200” doesn’t refer to horsepower, but instead nods to the truck’s massive torque output in stock form.

Built on the Ford F-250 Lariat, the VelociRaptor 1200 is capped at just 250 units and is offered exclusively with Ford’s flagship 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8. That engine remains mechanically untouched, producing 500 horsepower and a towering 1,200 lb-ft of torque.

While it may be surprising that Hennessey didn’t extract even more power from the diesel, the reality is that the factory output already provides more than enough muscle for a truck of this size and intent.

Rather than chasing additional engine performance, Hennessey focused on transforming the F-250 into a far more capable and visually striking off-road machine.

Ride height has been increased by five inches thanks to a BDS suspension lift, while adjustable Fox 2.5-inch coilover shocks with remote reservoirs help manage rough terrain. The suspension upgrades are complemented by 18-inch wheels wrapped in massive 37-inch off-road tires, giving the truck a commanding stance and serious trail credibility.

The exterior has been comprehensively reworked as well. The factory front and rear bumpers have been replaced with heavy-duty steel units designed to better handle off-road abuse.

Scattered throughout the bodywork are numerous carbon-fiber accents, which aren’t there to save weight so much as to add visual drama. These include carbon vents in the hood, flared fenders, mirror caps, and a carbon panel that stretches across the tailgate, all reinforcing the VelociRaptor’s aggressive identity.

Lighting and functional upgrades further distinguish the truck from a standard F-250. Hennessey has fitted upgraded LED fog lights along with an enormous 50-inch LED light bar to improve visibility in low-light conditions.

New graphics and bespoke badging announce the truck’s special status, while power-deployable running boards with integrated LED lighting make climbing into the lifted cabin a little easier.

Inside, the VelociRaptor 1200 receives its own set of enhancements. The cabin is trimmed in black leather and Alcantara upholstery, highlighted by red contrast accents that add a sporty touch.

All-weather WeatherTech floor mats are included as standard, and each truck features a numbered plaque to emphasize its limited-production status. That plaque also incorporates a full-color Stars and Stripes graphic, tying the truck directly to its patriotic inspiration.

The exclusivity and extensive list of upgrades come at a steep price. Owners looking to convert their F-250 into a VelociRaptor 1200 will need to spend $54,500 for the full Hennessey package alone.

Considering that the F-250 Lariat itself starts at $63,035, the total cost climbs to $117,535 before taxes and delivery fees. The conversion is available through select Ford dealerships and is covered by Hennessey’s three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty.

The VelociRaptor 1200 F-250 is clearly not aimed at the average truck buyer. It’s loud, expensive, and unapologetically over-the-top. But for those who want a diesel-powered statement truck that blends extreme off-road capability, bold styling, and a heavy dose of Americana, it delivers exactly what the name promises, just not in horsepower.
