Continental has introduced the Conti Hybrid HT 5 trailer tyre, finalising its Generation 5 hybrid tyre portfolio for regional freight operations.
Continental has officially unveiled the Conti Hybrid HT 5 trailer tyre, marking the completion of its Generation 5 hybrid tyre lineup designed for regional freight transport.
With this addition, the portfolio now delivers coordinated tyre solutions across steering, drive, and trailer axles. According to the company, the new model delivers a 15% increase in mileage compared with the previous Conti Hybrid HT 3+.
On the EU tyre label, the HT 5 achieves a B rating for wet grip and an A rating for external rolling noise. Continental attributes the tyre’s wet-weather and cold-condition performance to a newly developed tread compound combined with an optimised tread pattern.

Zigzag centre grooves and 2D pocket sipes are engineered to sustain grip and handling characteristics even as the tread wears down.
In a statement, Hinnerk Kaiser, Head of Product Development for Bus and Truck Tyres at Continental, said: “We developed the new Conti Hybrid HT 5 specifically for fleets that have to withstand the high demands of regional distribution transport on a daily basis.
The Conti Hybrid HT 5 combines safety, efficiency, and durability and supports reliable, economical operation under changing conditions.”
The Conti Hybrid HT 5 is scheduled to be available from March in 385/65 R22.5 and 385/55 R22.5 sizes, with additional dimensions planned for release by 2027. Each tyre comes fitted with RFID sensors as standard and is compatible with Continental’s ContiConnect digital tyre management platform.
