Toyota Motor Corporation has broadened its battery-electric portfolio with the introduction of the new bZ4X Touring, a more capable and lifestyle-oriented evolution of its flagship electric SUV.
Revealed today, the bZ4X Touring builds upon the foundation established by the standard bZ4X while delivering a noticeable increase in practicality, stronger performance credentials and a segment-leading driving range.
The new variant is aimed squarely at families and buyers with active routines, combining brisk acceleration, authentic off-road capability and long-haul comfort within a more spacious and ruggedly styled package.
Compared with the regular model, the bZ4X Touring offers a substantial boost in versatility, providing roughly 1.4 times more luggage capacity. It measures 4,830 mm in length, 1,860 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height, supported by a 2,850 mm wheelbase. These proportions deliver a confident SUV stance while maintaining everyday usability.
Boot capacity reaches 619 litres, with a cargo length of 1,092 mm and a height of 850 mm even when the 60:40 split-folding rear seats remain upright. Practical details such as cargo hooks, shopping bag hooks and convenient rear hatch seat-fold levers allow the load area to be quickly reconfigured for groceries, travel gear or outdoor equipment.
Inside, the cabin presents a spacious and refined atmosphere, characterised by generous headroom and a horizontally oriented dashboard design. A newly introduced 14-inch standalone centre display integrates navigation, climate functions and multimedia controls. Wireless charging and seamless smartphone connectivity further enhance daily convenience.
- 734 km Range and Rapid Charging in 28 Minutes
A headline figure for the bZ4X Touring is its class-leading 734 km range on a single charge. This is made possible by a 74.69 kWh lithium-ion battery, improved efficiency from the eAxle system incorporating silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductors, and aerodynamic refinements such as a prominent roof spoiler and an optimised rear bumper profile.
Fast-charging capability has also been upgraded. With battery preconditioning engaged, the Touring can replenish to approximately 80% in about 28 minutes, even in temperatures as low as -10°C. When a charging point is entered into the navigation system, the vehicle automatically prepares the battery to reach the ideal temperature before arrival, helping to reduce charging times.
For domestic charging, Toyota supplies a 6 kW (200V) charger with an integrated cable. The system is also compatible with a demand controller, allowing owners to manage household electricity loads effectively during charging.
- 280 kW AWD and 0–100 km/h in 4.6 Seconds
The all-wheel-drive variant delivers substantial performance. Featuring high-output front and rear eAxles, it generates a combined system output of 280 kW, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds.

A newly developed AWD control system continuously analyses steering inputs and wheel speeds to optimise torque distribution between the front and rear axles. This improves traction and composure on snow-covered roads, uneven terrain and more demanding off-road conditions.
Toyota’s X-MODE system is fitted as standard on AWD versions, offering three selectable drive modes tailored to different surfaces and trail scenarios. The result is an electric SUV that pairs strong straight-line performance with dependable all-weather and all-terrain confidence.
The bZ4X Touring comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense as standard. This includes Proactive Driving Assist, which supports steering and deceleration in traffic and through bends, as well as pre-collision braking functionality.
In addition, the model incorporates advanced Toyota Teammate features such as Advanced Drive (traffic congestion support) and Advanced Park with remote functionality. These technologies are intended to ease driver workload during motorway driving and simplify parking in confined spaces.
Externally, the bZ4X Touring adopts a more assertive design language. A full-width black LED rear light bar spans the tailgate, reinforcing its visual presence. Black 20-inch alloy wheels, substantial roof rails and protective skid plates underscore its adventure-focused identity.
Customers can choose from five exterior finishes, including Crystal White Pearl, Magnetite Gray Metallic and the newly developed Brilliant Bronze Metallic paired with a Crystal Black roof.
The interior is available in Black for a sophisticated, premium feel or Khaki for a more outdoors-oriented ambience, complemented by black wood grain-patterned trim.
The bZ4X Touring forms part of Toyota’s broader multi-pathway strategy toward carbon neutrality, delivering electrified solutions tailored to a wide range of customer requirements across global markets. Guided by its “to you” brand philosophy, Toyota aims to create vehicles aligned with distinct lifestyles and real-world usage needs.
With extended driving range, improved charging speed, greater practicality and robust AWD capability, the bZ4X Touring enhances Toyota’s competitiveness in the fast-growing electric SUV sector. It is positioned to appeal to families seeking long-distance usability and performance without sacrificing versatility.
The new Toyota bZ4X Touring is expected to attract buyers in search of a spacious, high-output electric SUV capable of handling school runs, highway journeys and off-road excursions with equal assurance.
