Aston Martin has announced a recall affecting thousands of its DBX luxury SUVs after identifying two separate safety issues, including a critical suspension defect that has already been linked to a crash.

The recall covers more than 5,000 units of the DBX, spanning multiple model years and variants. While the two issues are unrelated, both present notable safety concerns that require immediate attention from owners.

The more serious defect involves the rear suspension system. Investigations found that a component within the rear lower suspension assembly may fail under certain conditions.

If this occurs, it can compromise vehicle stability and potentially lead to a loss of control. The issue has already been associated with at least one reported crash, underscoring the severity of the problem.

Further analysis determined that a fastening element within the suspension may not meet required specifications. If this part loosens or detaches, it can cause damage to surrounding components, including brake lines. This not only affects handling but may also increase overall safety risks during operation.

In addition to the suspension concern, Aston Martin identified a separate issue with the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

A software-related fault may prevent the system from accurately alerting drivers when tire pressure drops below recommended levels.

While less immediately dangerous than the suspension defect, this issue reduces driver awareness and can increase the risk of operating the vehicle with underinflated tires.

To resolve both issues, Aston Martin will inspect affected vehicles and replace defective suspension components where necessary. The company will also update the TPMS software to restore proper functionality. All repairs will be carried out at no cost to owners.

Owners of impacted DBX models will be contacted directly and advised to schedule service appointments. Until repairs are completed, drivers are advised to remain attentive to any unusual handling behavior or warning indicators.

The recall highlights ongoing challenges in automotive manufacturing, where even high-end vehicles are not immune to component and software-related defects.
