When Porsche updated the third-generation Cayenne for the 2024 model year, they didn’t include the GTS version right away. They focused on releasing the Turbo and E-Hybrid trims first. The GTS, known for its focus on performance and driving experience, is now making a comeback for the 2025 model year, leading the launch of the Cayenne lineup. This time, it’s bringing more power and some technology from the Cayenne Turbo.
The GTS now has a twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 40 more horsepower and 30 more pound-feet of torque compared to the 2023 model. This brings the total power to 493 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque. The car also has an eight-speed transmission that shifts faster when in Sport mode.
Engineers have made some improvements to the GTS’s handling as well. They’ve borrowed parts from the Turbo GT Coupe to enhance the front wheels’ turning ability and added a special cooling system to prevent overheating during intense driving. The air suspension has been tuned specifically for the GTS, and customers can opt for Porsche’s new active anti-roll suspension system.
On the outside, the GTS comes with Porsche’s Sport Design Package as standard. Unlike before, the trim now features gloss black accents instead of body-colored ones. The exhaust tips are now dark bronze instead of black. Customers can also choose from three lightweight packages to reduce the car’s weight. Tinted headlights and taillights and 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels with red brake calipers complete the look.
Inside, there are luxurious materials like Race Tex upholstery and leather with red stitching. The sports seats have been upgraded with more support.
The starting price for the standard Cayenne GTS is $126,985, which is around $12,000 more than before. The coupe version starts at $131,495, about $14,000 more than the previous model. Orders are open now, and deliveries are expected to begin later this year.
