Porsche has introduced the 2025 models of its 911 Carrera and 911 Carrera GTS. The significant change is that the GTS now has a hybrid engine, making it the first hybrid Porsche 911. Both cars also have upgraded engines. The 911 Carrera GTS replaces its old 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine with a new 3.6-liter engine that includes an electric turbocharger and an electric motor. This improves the car’s performance.
The 911 Carrera GTS can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds, faster than before, and has a top speed of 194 mph. The regular 911 Carrera takes 3.9 seconds to reach 60 mph, or 3.7 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package. The top speed of the Carrera has also slightly increased from 182 to 183 mph.
The new engine in the 911 GTS features an electrically driven turbocharger, which is an innovative system developed by Porsche. This turbocharger uses wasted exhaust gases to generate energy. The GTS engine has a power output of 478 horsepower on its own, but with the hybrid system, it reaches 532 horsepower and 449 lb-ft of torque. The base 911 Carrera also receives engine upgrades.
Both models have improved design features for better aerodynamics. The 911 Carrera GTS comes with rear-axle steering as standard. The new cars have a range of wheel options, including carbon fiber wheels to reduce drag. They also feature new lighting designs and redesigned rear sections.
Inside, the 911 Carrera no longer comes with rear seats as standard, but they can be added at no extra cost. There’s a new start/stop button on the left side of the steering wheel. The center console has a wireless charging area for phones.
The digital display cluster in the driver’s cockpit is customizable, offering various display options. The center display supports apps like Spotify and Apple Music without needing a smartphone connection.
The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera models are expected to be available in the fall, with deliveries starting later in the year. Prices start from $120,100 for the Carrera and vary depending on the model and optional features.
