Tesla is giving their electric vehicle owners a reason to rejoice with a comprehensive software update currently in internal testing.

Designated as version 2024.26, this update goes beyond bug fixes and tackles features that have been high on user wishlists.

Music enthusiasts will be thrilled with the addition of YouTube Music and Amazon Music, expanding the already robust selection that includes Spotify, Apple Music, TuneIn, and Tidal. But the real game-changer for many will be the introduction of Parental Controls.

This long-awaited feature empowers parents to set limits for their teenage drivers, including maximum speeds and acceleration limitations.

To add another layer of safety, a Night Curfew function can be configured to send alerts through the Tesla app whenever the car is driven outside of authorized hours.

Tesla has even considered attempts to circumvent these controls by making safety features like Speed Limit Warning and Automatic Emergency Braking un-disablable with a PIN code.

Tesla’s software update enhances efficiency and comfort. The new charging menu lets you schedule charging by location, time, and frequency, both on the car’s touchscreen and the app (Controls > Schedule).

Climate improvements include quieter phone calls and a status bar displaying local weather, air quality index, and more details with a temperature tap.

Navigation gains sub-destination selection for precise routing, like picking a specific airport terminal. Expect this update on your Tesla soon!
