Tesla has recently introduced a time-limited incentive aimed at facilitating your transition to an electric vehicle (EV) from the renowned Texas-based automaker, potentially rendering your switch more economical.
As per the details provided on the official Tesla website, customers who trade in their current vehicle for a new Tesla are in for a pleasant surprise: they’ll receive 5,000 miles of Supercharging credits.
To be eligible for this offer, customers must take delivery of a new Tesla Model S, Model 3, Model X, or Model Y before March 31, 2024.
This offer holds substantial appeal for those contemplating a shift to Tesla, particularly considering the company’s ongoing expansion and enhancement of its Supercharger network, facilitating convenient long-distance travel.
However, there are some important considerations to bear in mind. The 5,000 miles of complimentary high-speed charging come with a two-year expiration period from the delivery date.
The March 31 deadline is non-negotiable, with no exceptions to be granted. It’s crucial to note that the Supercharging credits are linked to the customer’s Tesla account and cannot be transferred if the vehicle is sold to another owner.
Furthermore, there are certain exceptions to this offer. Used vehicle purchases, business orders, and vehicles utilized for commercial purposes are excluded from this promotion.
Tesla lease returns do not qualify, and the Cybertruck, which is unlikely to be delivered to owners by March 31 (unless through referral credits), is not included in this promotion.
On a positive note, Tesla’s trade-in offer can be combined with other ongoing promotions. Notably, Tesla accepts trade-ins from other brands, be they internal combustion engines or EVs, except motorcycles, RVs, commercial vehicles, or inoperable non-Tesla vehicles.
This isn’t the first time Tesla has extended supercharging credits to attract new customers. In 2022, the EV manufacturer offered 10,000 miles of free supercharging to customers taking delivery of their new Teslas by the end of the year. Additionally, the company has occasionally offered free supercharging to existing customers as well.
