The 2024 Tesla Model 3 Performance has been added to the lineup of updated Model 3 versions. It includes changes seen in the updated Model 3 and adds more performance.
A new rear motor, called the “Performance 4DU,” is introduced by Tesla. It can produce more power than before. The new Model 3 Performance has 510 horsepower, up from 455 horsepower in the previous version. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds, which is 0.2 seconds quicker than before. The top speed is 163 mph, and the power is now more rear-biased.
However, with more power, the range has decreased. The new Model 3 Performance can go 296 miles on a full charge, compared to 315 miles for the 2023 model. This could be due to its updated design, which includes new front and rear fascias, a new spoiler, front splitter, and rear diffuser. These changes help reduce lift and improve aerodynamic performance.
There are also many chassis changes and updates for the Performance. Tesla has added a new stabilizer bar, stiffer suspension mounts, steel springs, and adaptive dampers. The adaptive dampers have three modes: Standard, Sport, and Track, and adjust in real-time to optimize ride and handling. The Performance also comes with new 20-inch forged wheels and Pirelli P Zero 4 tires.
The “Track Mode V3” has been updated in the Model 3 Performance, offering more control over stability and regenerative braking power. The interior features new sport seats with larger bolsters and a deeper seating position for better cornering support. The seats are power-operated and have heating and ventilation. Carbon fiber trim on the dash hints at the car’s performance. The cabin also benefits from NVH improvements.
The price for the 2024 Model 3 Performance starts at $54,630, including the destination charge. However, it qualifies for a $7,500 federal tax credit, bringing the price down to $47,130. It is available to order on Tesla’s website.
