Tesla has quietly introduced a new paint color called Lunar Silver for the Model S and Model X. This color costs $2,500 in the US and CA$3,330 in Canada. It’s described as a clean silver with a metallic effect and a hint of blue. It replaces the previous Quicksilver color, which Tesla described as a dynamic, liquid metal effect.
While it’s nice to have a new silver option for these models, the Model S and Model X haven’t changed much in terms of design and features for a while. Even though there were rumors about updates, Tesla has focused on rebuilding its Supercharger network and product development teams after some layoffs by CEO Elon Musk.

Tesla is also working on new products. The facelifted Model 3 and Model 3 Performance have been introduced, but the next big reveal from Tesla will be a robotaxi. Elon Musk announced that the Tesla robotaxi will be revealed in August. He also mentioned that cheaper electric vehicles are on the way, possibly simpler versions of the Model Y and Model 3.
While Tesla is preparing for the future, it faces competition from other companies working on electric vehicles and self-driving technology. Mate Rimac, for example, believes his company can create autonomous driving technology better than what’s available in luxury cars like Rolls-Royce.
