Toyota has just introduced two new electric cars that are specifically designed for sale in China. These cars are called the bZ3C and the bZ3X. Unfortunately, Toyota hasn’t given us much information about these cars, even though they are going to be available for purchase.
The bZ3C is a sleek-looking car with a sloping roof and a low, wedge-shaped front. Inside, it has a simple design with some added flair, like red upholstery and ambient lighting. Toyota says this car was developed in collaboration with its joint-venture divisions affiliated with BYD and FAW.
On the other hand, the bZ3X is more of an upright SUV, but it still has a similar design to the bZ3C with its pointed front. Inside, it has a design similar to the bZ3C, but with cream-colored upholstery to give it a cozy feel. Toyota mentioned that this model was developed with its partners at GAC.
Even though Toyota didn’t give details about the price, performance, or range of these cars, we can guess that they might share some features with the bZ3 sedan that was previously released. That car uses batteries made by BYD and has different power options with a range of more than 370 miles.
One thing Toyota did mention is that both of these cars will have advanced driver assistance systems. You can see bumps and panels on the roof and fenders, which are likely for cameras and sensors, similar to what’s found on some Lexus LS models.
It’s unlikely that we’ll see these bZ3 models in the U.S. anytime soon. Since they were developed closely with Chinese partners and may use parts from those companies, it’s clear that these cars are mainly for the Chinese market.
