Volkswagen has revealed two new electric vehicles for the European market, introducing the ID.3 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer. While these models promise exciting performance and sleek designs, unfortunately, they won’t be available in the United States.
The ID.3 GTX is Volkswagen’s first electric hot hatch, boasting up to 322 horsepower and 402 pound-feet of torque, all channeled to the rear wheels. It comes in two variants: a standard version with 282 horsepower and a Performance model with 322 horsepower.
Both versions offer impressive acceleration, with the Performance model reaching 62 mph in just 5.6 seconds. The ID.3 GTX is equipped with a 79.0-kWh battery, allowing for rapid charging and a predicted range of around 373 miles.
Visually, the GTX model stands out with a distinctive front bumper design, gloss black exterior accents, and 20-inch wheels. Inside, it features sports seats with red stitching and an upgraded infotainment system.
On the other hand, the ID.7 GTX Tourer is a sporty electric wagon powered by dual motors producing a total of 335 horsepower, distributed to all four wheels. While specific acceleration figures are not provided, it offers a top speed of 112 mph. The ID.7 GTX Tourer is equipped with an 86.0-kWh battery, capable of fast charging, and expected to deliver impressive range.
Like its hatchback counterpart, the ID.7 GTX Tourer features a similar design language with a unique bumper design, gloss black trim, and 20-inch wheels. Inside, it boasts heated, heavily bolstered seats with red accents throughout the cabin.
While these models are set to hit the European market this year, Volkswagen has not announced any plans to bring them to the United States. Despite the anticipation surrounding the company’s electric vehicle lineup, American enthusiasts will have to admire the ID.3 GTX and ID.7 GTX Tourer from afar.
