The U.S. government’s car safety group, called the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), said on Monday that they’re looking into a problem with some Volkswagen electric cars. They’re worried that the doors might open while the car is moving.

The NHTSA got 12 complaints from people about Volkswagen’s ID.4 electric SUVs. These cars were made between 2021 and 2023. Some people said that sometimes the doors open by themselves while they’re driving. But luckily, nobody got hurt because of this problem.

Before this, Volkswagen had already recalled these cars because water was getting into the doors. Now, the NHTSA wants to check if the things Volkswagen did to fix the water problem also fixed the door problem.
