2021-2022 Mitsubishi Outlander recalled in Australia!

By Ritesh B

The 2021–2022 Mitsubishi Outlander has had 6552 units withdrawn by Mitsubishi Motors Australia.

The manufacturer has identified a possible issue with the car's rearview camera.

The impacted Outlanders are the most recent versions, which Mitsubishi began selling in October 2021 and some of which are already on display at dealerships.

Customers will get written correspondence from Mitsubishi Australia, which advises them to take their car to their chosen Mitsubishi Motors dealership.

The statement of recall provided to the DOI was as follows...

"Due to a software issue with the In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) unit, the rear-view camera display may not display the rear camera image as intended."- DOI complaint

The rear camera did not display the images and feed correctly.

This potential issue was classified into the major category by the DOI as it can cause severs accidents.

The recall notice was first put up on 25 July 2022.
