In an effort to attract new companies, Formula 1 will start using altered powertrain restrictions in 2026.

For the inaugural time, VW CEO Herbert Diess declared that the two top brands will compete in Formula 1 starting in 2026.

Porsche even recently bought a 50% stake in Redbull technologies.

This confirms the merger between Porsche and Redbull for the upcoming seasons.

Audi has been linked with the Alfa Romeo Sauber team in some rumours.

According to the rumors, Audi has planned to acquire the entire Alfa Romeo Sauber team.

Diess emphasised that Formula 1 was expanding and that new viewers were becoming more interested.

The 2026 regulation changes offer a golden opportunity to new teams to join F1.

Even Andretti Autosport is considering entering the F1 grid.
