How did E-Ray catch fire?
E-Ray has been under testing mode for over a month now. In a recent test in Spain, the prototype of this electric car allegedly caught fire. According to the reports, the fire was started from the engine bay of the prototype E-Ray, following an oil leak. It led to a runaway blaze that gradually caught the battery pack on fire. This incident was a failure moment in the records of EVs.
We expect that this fire will not affect the launch of the new E-Ray. Chevrolet will cope with the loss and it is believed that this prototype will be converted into a production model as per plan. E-Ray is set to be released in 2023. However, this prototype proved to be a total loss for Chevy. The burnt piles of this car were seen on the road in Spain. Photos and videos of this event went viral as soon as it was leaked.
More Details About The E-Ray
The upcoming E-Ray is believed to have a setup with a 6.2-liter V8 engine, just like its sibling Corvette. It will be combined with electric motors to produce 600 horsepower. It is expected that this electric model will accelerate from zero to sixty mph in just two seconds or maybe even quicker. Combining the V8 engine with electric motors will help this vehicle produce over 1,000 horsepower. Though no official details are out yet the price tag of this car will explode the net. Apart from jokes, this electric car will surely cost more than $200,000 as the standard model only comes around $100,000.
