Husqvarna is famous for its motorcycles, such as the Svartpilen and Vitpilen. The Svartpilen is like a scrambler bike, and the Vitpilen is more like a sporty bike. They used to have models called 401 and 701 in the U.S., but the 701 was not available after 2020. Now, Husqvarna is introducing a new model called Svartpilen 801, which is even better and has a bigger engine.
The new Svartpilen 801 has a modern Swedish design with sharp edges and sleek curves. It has high handlebars and mid-mounted foot controls, making it comfortable to ride.
The bike has a tube frame with the engine as a part of the structure. It rides on 17-inch wheels with dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc brake. The front fork and rear shock absorber provide a smooth ride.
This bike shares its chassis and engine with the KTM Duke 790 since KTM owns Husqvarna. The engine is a 799-cc parallel twin, making 105 horsepower and 64 pound-feet of torque.
It’s not too heavy, weighing 399 pounds without fuel. The bike comes with a six-speed manual transmission, cornering traction control, ride modes, and ABS. There’s also an optional Dynamic Pack with added features like cruise control and anti-wheelie control.
The Svartpilen 801 will be available for purchase in April for $10,899. There’s no news about a new Vitpilen yet, but it might be announced soon. The Vitpilen will likely have a sportier design with low clip-on bars and more rearward foot controls. It may also have sportier tires than the Svartpilen.
