Ford Motor Company has announced one of its largest vehicle safety recalls in the United States this year, affecting 565,691 Ford Bronco and Bronco Raptor SUVs from the 2021 through 2026 model years.

The recall was issued after the company identified a defect that could increase the risk of an engine compartment fire, prompting federal regulators and Ford engineers to take immediate action.

The recall comes at a time when automakers are under increasing pressure to improve quality control as vehicles become more technologically advanced. Modern SUVs contain complex electrical systems that manage everything from engine performance and emissions to driver assistance features.

According to Reuters, Ford said the recall involves a wiring harness in the engine compartment that may not have sufficient abrasion protection. Reuters reported that owner notification letters are scheduled to begin on August 24, 2026.
