Indian has updated its Scout bikes. This is the first big change to these bikes since Indian brought them back in 2015. They’ve made big changes to everything about the bikes, from the frame to the extras you can get for them.
Before, the Scout range had different versions like the Bobber Sixty, Rogue Sixty, and Sixty, which had smaller 60-cubic-inch engines with 78 horsepower. Then, there were other versions like Bobber, Rogue, Scout, and Bobber 20.
But now, they’ve done away with the smaller engine and introduced a new 1,250-cc V-twin engine called the SpeedPlus. It’s more powerful, making up to 111 horsepower and more than 82 pound-feet of torque. The company says that the five new versions might not all have the same power, but they haven’t given details about that yet.
The new versions are called Bobber, Sport, Classic, Super, and 101. They all have ABS, and they’ve made the seats a bit higher at 25.6 inches to suit more riders. Here’s what’s different about each:
The Bobber has a low, solo seat and a classic look with a suspension that makes the bike sit lower.
The Sport Scout has handlebars like old-style motorbikes, a sporty seat with back support, a fairing, and a 19-inch front wheel.
The Scout Classic has a more relaxed seat, more shiny metal parts, more bodywork, and wire wheels.
The Super Scout is made for long trips with a windshield, bags, a seat for a passenger, and more suspension travel.
The 101 Scout is meant to be the best Scout ever, with special forks, brakes, and a unique seat.
The bikes also come with different levels of technology. The basic version has a simple gauge and LED lights, while the top version has a touchscreen and advanced features like navigation.
There are also lots of extras you can buy, like bags and special seats. The cheapest Scout costs $12,999, and the most expensive one is $16,999. The new bikes will start being sold in May.
