According to a recent report there won't be a BMW Z4 M

According to a recent report from the media, there won’t be a BMW Z4 M. BMW’s insiders close to the Z4 program shared this news. People have been talking about the possibility of a more powerful Z4 model, but it seems those hopes won’t come true.

BMW’s head of the Z4 project, Michael Wimbeck, hinted at this last year. He explained that turning the Z4 into a full M car isn’t easy anymore because of the complex performance systems. The advanced engine and braking system make it hard to fit everything into the Z4 without making big changes. So, it’s not worth the effort and money to make an M version of the Z4.

The Z4 hasn’t been a big seller for BMW, and it might not have met sales expectations. Even though there was a manual version, it’s unlikely there will be any more performance upgrades for the Z4, especially now that it’s nearing the end of its production in 2026.

But what about the Supra? Well, it’s not clear if this news affects the rumored Supra GRMN. BMW and Toyota, which make the Supra together with the Z4, have different plans for their cars. However, there have been hints that Toyota might be testing a hotter version of the Supra, known as the GRMN, based on spy shots taken at the Nürburgring.

These photos show some changes to the Supra, like extra vents on the hood and a new wing on the rear. This could mean that Toyota is considering adding the powerful S58 engine to the Supra. But Toyota hasn’t confirmed anything yet, so we’ll have to wait and see.
