One of the most iconic cars on the Indian roads is the Mahindra Scorpio. In India, this car has built a particular fandom. The major reason behind the success of Scorpio was a budget-friendly full-size SUV with top-notch features and specifications. We have seen many SUVs like Toyota Fortuner, Tata Safari, and Toyota Innova, but the quality, like Scorpio, is unmatchable. In a growing country like India, we have huge popularity for cars like Scorpio, which are pocket friendly, safety enhanced, smart looking, large in size, and have reliable build quality.
Mahindra introduced Scorpio in 2002. To date, this car is in production. It is a 5-door SUV with rear-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options. This SUV was Mahindra’s first car to roll out for the global market. The Indian automaker received a very positive response for Scorpio. The first-generation Scorpio was a huge hit. Although, the 2014 Scorpio had a different charisma in its body. Mahindra has announced they will introduce the same-looking SUV in a modern body. Although, after many facelift models and newer generations, the 2014 Scorpio was the most loved generation. For the crazy fans of the Scorpio, Mahindra has announced that they will launch a new Mahindra Scorpio Classic.

What Can We Expect From The Scorpio Classic?
The new Scorpio Classic will retain the looks of the 2014 Scorpio. Although some minor changes are expected with some modern design, the structure and main body design will resemble the classic Scorpio, which was the best-selling car of Mahindra. It will get an updated front grille, giving the SUV a sporty look. The headlamps will get a few changes with the revamped design. There will be a new faux skid plate that will offer better off-road stability. Scorpio Classic will arrive in two variants: The Classic S and the Classic S11.
The Classic S will have standard seating in the middle, while the Classic S 11 will get optional captain seats in the second row. The dashboard will be mounted with a 9-inch touch screen infotainment system with wireless connectivity. Additionally, the Classic Scorpio is expected to get a 2.2-liter mHawk four-cylinder engine. This engine will generate 138 horsepower at 3750rpm and 300Nm of torque at 1600 to 2800 rpm. It will get a six-speed manual gearbox; unfortunately, we will not get an automatic transmission option.
Pricing And Release Date
However, Mahindra has not yet revealed the release date and pricing of the new Scorpio, but we expect this new SUV to be launched at a price range between Rs.12 to Rs.18 lakh. These expected prices are ex-showroom prices. This price range will be ahead of its rivals- Hyundai Alcazar, Tata Safari, Tata Harrier, and MG Hector.
