Commencing in late 2024, Hyundai will join forces with the colossal Amazon.com platform to showcase and sell its vehicles online, marking a notable development in the automotive retail landscape.

While Amazon is not the pioneer in online car sales, its status as the world’s largest online retailer amplifies the significance of this venture. Shoppers will enjoy a streamlined experience on Amazon’s platform, where they can refine their search based on specific preferences such as model, trim, color, and features.

The entire purchase process, including selection, payment, and financing options, will be seamlessly executed within Amazon’s system. Post-sale logistics, including pickup and delivery, will be facilitated through the customer’s local Hyundai dealership. Although Amazon already hosts a Vehicle Showrooms section leading users to traditional auto dealerships, the Hyundai partnership marks a departure by enabling customers to complete the entire vehicle purchase directly on Amazon.

According to a Hyundai spokesperson cited by Car and Driver, dealers will be empowered to list their full lineup on Amazon’s platform once the feature goes live. Importantly, the pricing displayed on Amazon will be set by dealers, and transactions will occur at the list price, eliminating the possibility of online negotiation for discounts on Hyundai vehicles.
