Maserati declared the discontinuation of its 3.8-liter V-8 engine last year, marking the beginning of its transition away from internal combustion engines. The renowned Italian brand has now unveiled its roadmap for introducing several new electric vehicle (EV) models in the upcoming years.

The progression towards EVs is already in motion, with the GranTurismo Folgore and Grecale Folgore anticipated to be available for purchase in the United States this year. However, details regarding the electric Grecale crossover remain limited.

Initially revealed in 2020, the electric iteration of the Maserati MC20 supercar is now scheduled for release in 2025. Initially proposed to feature a 700-horsepower tri-motor powertrain, the MC20 Folgore has not received further details from Maserati.

Notably, the limited-production Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale will share its foundation with the MC20, offering an electric variant with 750 horsepower and an estimated 240-mile range. While these specifications are likely to extend to Maserati, specific details are yet to be disclosed.

Following the MC20 Folgore, Maserati has disclosed plans to introduce a new large electric SUV in 2027, a model not previously mentioned by the brand. This SUV may potentially share its platform and powertrains with the upcoming electric Jeep Wagoneer S.

Finally, Maserati has announced that the next generation of the enduring Quattroporte sedan will debut as an EV in 2028. Originally anticipated for a 2025 release, rumors circulating late last year suggested a delay in the sedan’s arrival, and it appears these rumors hold validity.

Prior to the launch of these three electric models, Maserati is set to unveil a convertible version of its electric grand tourer, with the GranCabrio Folgore expected to hit the roads this year.

Maserati emphasizes that all new models released henceforth will be electric. Simultaneously, the gas-powered Quattroporte is being phased out, while the V-6-powered versions of the Ghibli sedan and Levante crossover will persist in their current configurations until the end of their respective product life cycles.
