The highly anticipated production version of the Chinese-made 3-seat Hongqi L-Concept limousine is poised to make its debut in the market.

Initially showcased at the Shanghai Auto Show in April 2021, the futuristic Hongqi L-Concept provides a glimpse into the forthcoming replacement for the L5, often hailed as the “Rolls-Royce of China.”

Hongqi, the esteemed luxury car manufacturer and premium brand under the FAW Group, has confirmed that the production iteration of the Hongqi L-Concept model is nearing its market release.

In a teaser video shared on its Facebook page, Hongqi announced, “The high-tech #Hongqi L-Concept model is about to be launched in the market.”

Retaining some of the striking design elements showcased during its debut at the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show, the production model of this futuristic full-size four-door sedan has been previewed in a teaser video.

Characterized by its coupe-style silhouette, fastback roof, and exquisite two-tone exterior, the sedan features rear suicide doors reminiscent of Rolls-Royce’s signature style. Inside, the limousine boasts a unique three-seat layout, with two lavish seats in the rear and one for the driver, eliminating the need for a traditional steering wheel.

Upon its release into the market, likely under a new name, the L-Concept model will join Hongqi’s lineup of vehicles strategically crafted to entice customers away from esteemed brands such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Notable models in Hongqi’s lineup include the H9, E-HS9, and the revered L5.
