In its fourth generation, the 2025 Honda Pilot undergoes minimal alterations for the new model year, with the most notable changes occurring in its trim lineup.

The removal of the base-level LX trim marks a significant shift, elevating the Black Edition to the top-tier model status.

Consequently, this adjustment results in the Pilot’s starting price exceeding $40,000 for the first time, ranging from $41,295 for the Sport variant to $55,675 for the Black Edition.

Following the discontinuation of the LX trim, the Pilot Sport steps in as the new entry-level option, leading to a base price increase of $2810 for the mid-size SUV.

However, while there is a notable uptick in the Sport’s pricing, the year-over-year comparisons for other trim levels show only marginal increases of a few hundred dollars.

The EX-L now starts at $44,595, the Touring at $48,595, the TrailSport at $50,495, and the Elite at $54,175. The introduction of the new Black Edition starts at $55,675.

Originally introduced in the 2024 Passport lineup, the Black Edition makes its way into the Pilot with distinctive features such as black 20-inch wheels and blacked-out badging, complementing various other black accents adorning the grille, mirror housings, and door trim.

Inside, the top-tier trim boasts “Black Edition” embossing on the front seats and floor mats, while red contrast stitching exclusive to this variant adorns the steering wheel, door panels, and leather seats. Additionally, red accent lighting enhances the cabin’s ambiance.

Under the hood, all Pilot models come equipped with a robust 3.5-liter V-6 engine producing 285 horsepower, paired with a smooth 10-speed automatic transmission.

While front-wheel drive is standard on the lower trims, customers have the option to upgrade to all-wheel drive for an additional $2100.

With the 2025 Pilot now rolling into dealership lots, Honda enthusiasts can expect the latest updates and enhancements, ensuring that the iconic SUV continues to deliver a compelling driving experience.
