Tata Motors has recently been reshaping its product lineup for the Indian market, showcasing a diverse range of offerings. Among its latest ventures is the introduction of the Tata Punch EV, a development that has garnered significant attention.
Notably, Tata Motors distinguishes itself as the sole manufacturer offering diesel, petrol, CNG, and EV options in the entry-level segment.
Today marks the official launch of automatic transmissions for the Tiago and Tigor models by Tata Motors, a significant milestone. This introduction marks the debut of an automatic gearbox in a CNG-equipped vehicle, setting a new standard in the automotive landscape.
The Tiago iCNG AMT base variant is priced at ₹ 7.89 lakhs, while the starting price for the Tigor iCNG is Rs 8.85 lakhs.
The Tiago iCNG automatic is available in four variants: XTA, XZA+, XZA+ DT, and XZA NRG, catering to diverse preferences. Similarly, the Tigor is offered in two variants: XZA CNG and XZA+ CNG.
Tata Motors has unveiled fresh color options for both the Tiago and Tigor models, including ‘Tornado Blue’ for the Tiago, ‘Grassland Beige’ for the Tiago NRG, and ‘Meteor Bronze’ for the Tigor.
Tata Motors’ CNG technology boasts a unique proposition, featuring twin-cylinder technology strategically positioned beneath the luggage areas to optimize storage space. Furthermore, the Direct Start in CNG mode eliminates the need to switch during drives, ensuring convenience and fuel efficiency with every start.
Both vehicles are equipped with a 1.2-liter engine delivering 86hp of power and 113Nm of torque under petrol mode while producing 73hp of power and 95Nm of torque when running on CNG.
Initially offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the introduction of the new automatic gearbox provides the option for a 5-speed AMT transmission, enhancing driving versatility and comfort for consumers.
