Karma Automotive has introduced the Gyesera sedan, marking its debut in the realm of all-electric four-door models and expanding the lineup of the California-based automaker, coinciding with the celebration of its 10th anniversary. This unveiling follows the introduction of the 1,000-hp Kaveya super coupe GT in Las Vegas the previous year.
Diverging from the range-extended GS-6, one of the longest-standing cars available for purchase in 2024, the Gyesera is entirely electric. Although it shares its platform with the GSe-6, Karma Automotive has extensively revised the car to create an entirely new model with distinct performance characteristics, as well as unique exterior and interior styling.
“The Gyesera, with its contemporary aesthetics, premium feel, and exceptional performance, serves as our gateway to the future, embodying Karma’s renewed corporate trajectory,” stated Marques McCammon, President of Karma Automotive.
Initial Specifications Revealed
Karma Automotive has released preliminary specifications for the pre-production Gyesera. Equipped with a 120 kWh battery, the sedan is anticipated to offer a range of over 250 miles on a single charge. Its powertrain configuration is expected to deliver a combined output of 590 horsepower and 693 lb-ft of torque, facilitating acceleration from 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds and achieving a top speed of over 135 mph.
Constructed with an aluminum spaceframe chassis, carbon fiber and aluminum body panels, and aluminum SLA suspension, the estimated weight of the sedan is 5,300 pounds. The vehicle measures 199.9 inches in length, 78.9 inches in width, and 52.4 inches in height, with a wheelbase of 124.4 inches.
In comparison to the Tesla Model S, the Gyesera boasts a longer body and wheelbase but is lower and narrower.
Pricing and Production Plans
While Karma Automotive has not disclosed the pricing for the Gyesera, it asserts that the sedan will be an ultra-exclusive and exotic model, surpassing the exclusivity of the Cadillac Celestiq.
“Compared to vehicles such as the Cadillac Celestiq or even the Porsche Taycan, our vehicles will be more exclusive,” McCammon remarked during an interview with Topspeed at the EV’s debut at the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.
McCammon also revealed to Automotive News that Karma Automotive intends to manufacture approximately 2,000 Gyesera EVs over a four- to five-year production span.
Reservations for the Gyesera have already commenced, requiring a $5,000 pre-order fee. Deliveries to customers are slated for later this year, for the 2025 model year.
