Curious to know which vehicle ranks as the least fuel-efficient in the Infiniti lineup for the 2024 model year? Look no further than the QX80, a body-on-frame SUV with Armada roots and a thirst for fuel.

Originally introduced in 2010 as the QX56, featuring a 5.6-liter V8 shared with the Armada, the QX80 has remained a symbol of robust luxury. However, its fuel consumption, at 16 miles per gallon (14.7 liters per 100 kilometers) with 2WD, leaves much to be desired in terms of efficiency.

Nonetheless, Infiniti aims to address this with the introduction of a new powertrain for the 2025 model year. The upcoming model will be equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine, codenamed VR35DDT, offering a substantial increase in power to 450 horsepower and 515 pound-feet of torque.

Coupled with a new nine-speed automatic transmission and active front grille shutters, the QX80 aims to deliver improved fuel economy while maintaining its formidable performance.

Additional enhancements include a 57% increase in lateral stiffness and a 25% increase in torsional rigidity, promising a quieter and more refined driving experience.

With advanced features such as Electronic Air Suspension and Dynamic Digital Suspension, the 2025 QX80 combines luxury with capability, offering a compelling package for SUV enthusiasts.
