In late February, it was revealed that the first Hennessey Venom F5 was set to be auctioned off with no reserve price. As of earlier this week, the final sale price has been disclosed.

Initially estimated to fetch between $1.2 and $1.65 million, the hypercar surpassed expectations, selling for $2,205,000 at the Amelia Island event on March 1, slightly under its $2,487,000 window sticker.

Although the sale resulted in a small loss for the owner, which is rare for such sought-after vehicles, the second out of 24 models boasted a Lausanne Silver paint finish over an Ink leather interior.

Alongside the car came the window sticker, battery charger, factory documentation, and two covers. At the time of listing, it had only accumulated 229 miles (369 km) on the odometer.

Despite its impressive price tag, the exact top speed of the Venom F5 remains unknown as Hennessey aims for a record-breaking run. Theoretically capable of exceeding 320 miles per hour (515 kph), simulations clocked it at 328 mph (528 kph).

Hennessey’s plans for the year include a 300+ mph (483 kph) run, with the ultimate goal of surpassing 310 mph (500 kph) to honor internal combustion engines.

The attempt will feature David Donohue, the record-setter at the 2023 Pikes Peak, at the wheel, accompanied by Brian Jones, the former chief engineer of the Mercedes-AMG One hypercar.

If you spot a Venom F5 on a closed road surrounded by spectators, seize the opportunity to capture the historic moment before official details are released.

The Hennessey Venom F5 stands as a tribute to the traditional internal combustion engine, boasting an astonishing power output. Specifications indicate a staggering 1,817 horsepower (1,843 ps/1,355 kW) available at 8,000 rpm, with peak torque reaching 1,193 pound-feet (1,617 Nm) at 5,000 rpm.

Equipped with a 6.6-liter V8 engine featuring dual turbos and a single-clutch semi-automatic transmission, the Venom F5 is a rare and formidable machine.
