Sneak Peek: Jeep's Easter Safari Builds Promise Exceptional Offerings This Year

Ahead of the 58th annual Easter Jeep Safari later this month, the Toledo-based automaker has provided a sneak peek of two new concepts, offering enthusiasts a glimpse of what’s in store in Moab, Utah, from March 23-31.

The first image showcases what appears to be a Wrangler painted in High Velocity with a black-painted seven-slot grille and trim details.

While it may not appear drastically different from a standard Wrangler, there are subtle hints suggesting a potential military-inspired build, notably the embossed ‘Willys’ text and font on the side of the hood, reminiscent of the original military Willys Jeep.

Jeep’s connection to the Willys nameplate is deeply rooted in 20th-century war efforts, with General Dwight D. Eisenhower acknowledging the pivotal role of the Willys Jeep in wartime operations.

Speculation arises about whether this could be an homage to the Universal Jeep, with potential references to models like the CJ-3A, CJ-3B, and early versions of the CJ-5 marketed by Willys in the 1950s and 1960s.

The second teaser image hints at a more aggressive build, featuring Firecracker Red with a white racing stripe suggesting V8 power. The blurred ‘392’ motif on the stripe hints at a V8-powered setup, potentially a 470-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi engine.

The presence of flared fenders and prominent fender vents suggests a hardcore rally or Baja-inspired build, akin to the Trailcat concept teased in 2016.

Jeep promises “unrivaled heritage, bold color palettes, and powerful propulsion suited for any adventure” from this year’s lineup of creative builds, setting the stage for an exciting showcase at the Easter Jeep Safari.
